Spent two evenings as we stayed in a local B&B Parsonage cottage. And had a really nice time. Homely and friendly, one lady in particular who had served us on the thursday and friday around mid afternoon, very helpful and friendly. Unfortunatley I hadn't taken her name. Place is nicely decorated and the pub garden is lovely. Highly recommend. I did like the little doll house with the ghosts at the windon, put a smile on our faces :)

Had a really nice birthday meal with friends on 17th of September. The service was superb, the food was excellent and the wine was very good (and the beer!). Was made extra special when the landlord gave the birthday girl a tour of the pub and a special gift. Thank you very much for a memorable day, we will be back. We will also be thoroughly recommending you guys to all our friends. Best wishes Kerry, Mandy, Linda and Paul.

From the 1920's to the mid 1950's Sam & Lil Norton took their children Jess, Sam, Eileen, Rube and Ray from Bermondsey to Pluckley for their annual hop-picking holiday. The tales of Pluckley and the Black Horse are told and re-told in the family today. Sadly the last of those children died this year and the regular family get together yesterday at the Black Horse was headed up by the 5 remaining cousins but our day at the pub and our walk to the hop-pickers huts was as enjoyable as ever. 32 of us had a wonderful meal at the Black Horse and the food was better than ever! The Landlord and the staff at the pub were so helpful, with eldest member of the family 85 and the youngest, just 10 months. The food was delicious, hot and beautifully presented. The portions were generous and the deserts were a real treat. The cheesecake and the Cappuccino Brulee were my favourites! Yes I tried both!! Thank you to everyone at The Black Horse, See you next year. Sue Norton
